Who are we?

The United Christian Church (formerly Southern Maryland Faith Community) is a partnership congregation of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Our congregation is made up of diverse persons from St. Mary's and Calvert Counties.

We strongly believe in worship as a joyful time of praise and celebration, sharing God's word. Prayer, singing, joys and concerns, offering of art as gift, offering, special music, scripture, children and adult sermons, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper confirm our Christian life.

We are a warm caring community in fellowship with one another in activities such as Daughters of the Lamb (Christian Women's Fellowship), Christian Education, potluck luncheons and after worship refreshments.

We find our service to the community a very important part of service to God. Our Outreach Program is designed to give funds to established organizations in the area. Locally we support HOPE, Three Oaks Shelter, Health Shares and Project Echo (Calvert County). Our World Outreach donations are managed through Disciples Mission Finance (DOC) and Our Churches Wider Mission (UCC).
